There have been a few good deals with Orville Redenbacher popcorn recently, so there is a good chance you might have a few boxes lying around. If so, this deal is for you.
If you have 2 boxes of Orville Redenbacher’s Gourmet Microwave Popping Corn (a 2-pack or larger, any variety), you can send 2 UPC’s as well as this form, and you will get a free popcorn bowl in the mail.
I happen to have 2 boxes in the house, so I’ll be mailing the form and UPC’s out soon.

As you can see at the top of our blog, we have a newsletter called the “Dreamline Savings Newsletter”. We have been asked what is in it, and why should someone want to sign up.
To learn the basics about the newsletter, you can look here.
What is the newsletter? It’s an email sent out twice a week, usually on Tuesday and Friday. In it, we usually have around 10-15 “deals”. We spend a lot of time researching prices – online, in stores, watching television advertisements, as well as looking at newspapers. We put the best deals in the newsletter both for online stores as well as local stores you can go to if you prefer to shop that way.
These deals are in a lot of different categories… clothing, electronics, DVDs, toys, kids stuff, things for the house, travel deals, and more. We also include freebies you can get (again, both online and in store). We also sometimes include different contests you can enter.
The point of the newsletter is to help you save money. There are so many ways to save money on almost everything, and let’s face it…sometimes you have to (or want to!) buy things. So why not get it as cheaply as you can? If you can get a DVD for $4.99 instead of $15.00, the money you saved can go in a savings account, or go towards a great vacation. If you love reading a certain magazine but don’t want to spend the money – you would be very happy to be able to get it for free.
We have seen so many “financial guru’s” go around telling people never to use a credit card, or don’t ever go out to dinner, buy new clothes, or do anything else that you might want to do. Of course these things will save you money, but that’s not realistic. Our goal is to help you balance things out. This way you can still go to the movies, go to your favorite restaurant, buy that shirt you’ve been wanting…but still have money to put into your bank account, and still be able to go on that vacation you’ve been dreaming about.
Every so often we also add tips on saving money, or really good deals that can’t be summed up in a sentence or two. The whole point of the newsletter (as well as Dreamline Savings in general) is to help you save money without changing your lifestyle. You want to save money, but you still want to be able to go out to eat, buy what you want, and go on nice vacations. The Dreamline Savings newsletter is just one more way we help you do this.
Also, if you’re ever looking for something in particular (say a certain brand of digital camera), or are looking if there are any coupons out there for your favorite store, just send us an email. We’ll do some research, and put the answers in our next newsletter!
If you have any suggestions on how to make the newsletter better, please let us know!

One way to save on Vacations is to stay on time-share while you are on vacation. If you do, you will usually get inexpensive rooms, as well as free meals, tickets, or shows, depending on the location of the time-share. I would just note that unless you had planned on purchasing a time-share ahead of time, to make sure you are very good at saying no, as the sellers can be very persuasive. They are basically giving you this very reduced rate along with all the extras to try to sell you a week or two per year for their time share. As long as you don’t mind a 2 hour presentation though, you can get a vacation for a lot less then normal!
We did one in Orlando about 4 years ago. We stayed 6 nights and they didn’t try to sell us on anything until the day before we left. It was a nice suite complete with jacuzzi and it was well worth it.
Here are a few examples:
- Las Vegas – 3 nights hotel plus Show Tickets – for $199.00, you get 3 nights at the Tuscany Suites and Casino or The Imperial Hotel & Casino (or comparable hotel). You also get your choice of $50 in gaming chips or 2 Show Tickets. The retail value for this package ranges from $226 – $909.
- Orlando – 5 nights hotel + 2 4-Day Park Hoppers – For $500.00, you get 5 nights at the Wyndham Orlando and International Plaza Resort & Spa (or comparable hotel), plus two 4-day Disney Magic Your Way Tickets with the Park Hopper and No Expiration Date Options (retail value $606.00). You even get a $25.00 dinner certificate to a popular area restaurant such as Chili’s or Macaroni Grill. The retail value for this package ranges from $897 to $1,873
There are many other locations offered at Wyndham Vacation Resorts (such as Hawaii, San Francisco, Branson, and more), we just listed two of the more popular destinations.

Another way to save money is to be able to get things for free!
There is a website called MyPoints, where you can get gift cards for free.
What happens is you get points for reading emails they send you, and by clicking on the links in them to visit their advertisers. The points add up, and you can then exchange them for gift cards. You can limit how many emails they can send you a day if you’re afraid of getting too many, but personally, the way I see it is, the more emails they send you, the more points you get! They also have offers you can do to get even more points, such as fill out surveys, or purchase things through them.
We have been members of them for a few years now, and have gotten many gift cards through them. They have many types of gift cards, including many local stores and restaurants. Just to name a few, they offer gift cards to Barnes & Noble, Macy’s, Olive Garden, Staples, Circuit City, Hilton, Linens ‘N Things, Bloomingdales, and many, many more.
Personally, we don’t usually shop through them, and get most of our points through emails. By reading the email you get points, and by clicking on the bottom of it to go the advertiser you get more points. It takes just a few seconds, and at least twice a year we are able to get $25.00 gift certificates to the places of our choice.
It’s really a great way to spend just a few seconds a day to get free gift cards!

With our first really nice warm day finally here, it made me think that summer will be here before you know it. This is just a quick tip to help your electric bill.
Set your thermostat to 78 or the highest comfortable temperature. Each degree cooler than 78 will increase your bill as much as 3 percent. If you’re away for a few days, you should set your air conditioner to 80 degrees or higher.
Also, close shades and drapes on the side of the house where the sun shines during the day to keep light and heat out.

ShopRite has a great Heinz promotion going on this week. If you buy 5 products (check their circular for the list or products), you’ll get a coupon for $5.00 off your next order. There are 2 deals that I think are great.
Deal 1: Buy 5 jars of Classico Pasta Sauce at $1.14 each. You can only get 2 per variety, so you’ll get to try at least 3 different kinds. The first time, you pay $5.70, and you get a $5.00 coupon for your next order. So you paid $.70 for 5 jars! You can then use that $5.00 off, and keep doing it one order after another, where the total comes to $5.70, you give them the $5.00 off coupon, and you pay $.70 for the 5 jars. I plan on getting a bunch to try!
Deal 2: Ore-Ida French Fries. Usually on sale you can get them for about $2.00 a bag. Well, they are on sale for $1.94 this week, and part of the Heinz deal. So if you buy 5, you pay $9.70, and get back $5.00, making it $4.70 for the 5 bags, or under a dollar a bag! If you have a coupon (there are .75 cents off of 2 Ore-Ida coupons available), you can pay even less!
I enjoy when grocery stores have deals like this. It lets you stock up without spending a lot of money!
