Besides viruses, there is also spyware, which can also do bad things to your computer. Have you ever had a problem where you try to go to one website, and yet your computer always takes you to another website? That could be some spyware on your computer. There are also many other types of spyware out there.
The good news is that there are many free programs that will search your hard drive to see if you have any spyware, and if so, get rid of it. Here are the 2 that we like and use:

There are many ways to save money on your vacation. On a recent trip, one way we easily saved $30 or more was by holding on to a bottle of water.
You can either wait until you are at your destination to buy a bottle of water, or bring an empty water bottle on your trip with you. If you then just fill up your water bottle with tap water in your hotel room, or at a water fountain while you’re out, you’ll still have nice cold water without paying for a new bottle of water each time.
When you’re out all day, especially in warm or semi-warm weather, you’ll get thirsty and want a drink. And let’s face it…when you are in a tourist destination, a bottle of water is going to cost you about $3.00! You really don’t want to have to buy a $3.00 bottle of water each time you need a drink. But if you hold on to your bottle of water, and just keep refilling it, you’ll save a good amount of money, and you won’t even go without since you’ll still have your nice cold drinks.

This contest makes me smile. As you know, many people think being called “cheap” is a bad thing. But it can be a really good thing…and CheapTickets knows it! They are having a contest where you get to show them how cheap you really are. Tell them your story and how you are so cheap when you vacation, and you could win not only a really cool vacation, but could even be featured in a national advertising campaign.
Four grand prize winners will each win a 5 day, 4 night vacation package including air, hotel, and car rental for 4 people to anywhere in the continental U.S.
I don’t know about you, but that sounds good to me! I think I’ll be entering. I just need to figure out which vacation to use. You have until March 31st to enter. Good Luck.

It’s that time of year again…the first day of Spring! Or, to me…time for FREE Italian Ices at Rita’s!
For years now, on the first day of spring, Rita’s gives away free Italian Ices. It’s not some tiny little sample either, but a pretty decent single serving size! This means that tomorrow, March 20th, you can go to your local Rita’s, and get your own Italian Ices – any flavor, and not have to pay a cent.
For the past 4 or 5 years now I have taken part in it, getting my free ices while trying a new flavor each time. Unfortunately, I used to have to drive about 15-20 minutes away to my nearest Rita’s. Good news for me though, last summer they built one just 2 streets away! So this year I will have less than a 2-minute drive for the ices.
I will have to warn you…The lines get long! They do move very quickly though. If you have one near you, I recommend going and trying it. You’ll be glad you did!

Barnes & Noble has 30% off selected books in the Dummies series. You know the books they’re talking about. The ones that start “Calculus for Dummies”, or “Crocheting for Dummies” etc. They have them on almost every subject. Well, on top of the 30% off selected books in the series, they have a rebate where you can get $5.00 back for each book you buy.
This means a Dummies book that is originally $19.99 will be $8.99 when all is said and done, so you will end up saving over 50%! The good news is that you can do multiple rebates. The rebate form states that you need to do an individual rebate form for each book, but does not limit the number you can do.
This deal is going on through April 1st.
I would like to mention this though. The name might be a little “off-putting”…but these are definitely great books if you are a beginner in a certain subject. They are thorough, and will help you learn the basics about something. So don’t let the name turn you off.
