October 3rd, 2008

The Home Depot has a very interesting FREE clinic on October 23rd in their stores. It’s on how to save money on your energy bills this winter.

Since prices of everything keep going up, this sounds like a great way to find out how you can save money this winter heating your house!

If that wasn’t a good enough reason to go, when you show up at the free seminar, they’ll give you a coupon that’s good for $10.00 off when you spend at least $100.00. The coupon will be good through November 6th, so you’ll have a little time to use it!

Amazon Prime - Free Trial!

September 3rd, 2008

If you like Amazon as much as we do, one thing you’ll know is that you can get free shipping if you spend at least $25.00. That’s great, but sometimes the item you want isn’t quite $25.00, and you don’t want to have to buy something else just to get over the limit. What you might not know, is that Amazon has a program called “Amazon Prime” that will give you free shipping no matter how big or small your order is.

Amazon Prime actually has another benefit as well. Not only does it not matter how small your order is, but your free shipping will be free 2-day shipping! So now not only will you save money on almost everything (since Amazon usually has the lowest prices…) but you’ll also get your items a lot faster, and you won’t have to pay for anything.

This will come in handy if you need to buy something, but need it that week. Before you’d have to either pay more and go to a store nearby, or pay more to have Amazon ship it out sooner. Now you can pay less, and still get it sooner! If you have Amazon Prime and 2-day shipping isn’t good enough, for $3.99 you can get overnight shipping. This is still less than regular shipping for most places.

The best part about Amazon Prime is that right now you can get a free trial. You’ll get 1-month of Amazon Prime for free, where you’ll be able to get free 2-day shipping no matter how small your order is! I recommend trying it. You’ll really enjoy how quickly you’ll get your products!

Free Roll of Film Developed at Walgreens (Today Only)

August 6th, 2008

I don’t know how many people still uses film when they take pictures…but if you do, or if you just have an old roll of film that you never got developed and it’s just sitting there…this deal is for you.

Today only, Walgreens will develop one roll of film for you, for FREE. They did this a few months ago as well, and I was able to get a roll of film developed that I had sitting around for 3 years that I had completely forgotten about. It was great, since I didn’t have to pay anything, and was able to see the pictures. It’s only available today, and all you have to do is bring the coupon in, and you’ll get your roll of film developed for free.

SheSpeaks - Test and Influence Products

July 15th, 2008

SheSpeaks is a company where women can test new products and have an input into what these products become.

Basically, this is how it works. Every so often if you fit a certain profile (different products have different suggested audiences) you’ll get an email asking if you would like to test the product. If you do, they’ll send you the product (for free of course). You get to try the product and keep it. You then report back to them telling them what you liked, as well as what you didn’t like. If you have any suggestions on how it could be better, you let them know that as well.

They also have a forum with other people who like yourself are also testing the product. There you are able to talk about the product as well. They will even sometimes give you coupons that you can give to your friends.

Last week I got a product in the mail to test, so I was really excited. They sent me the EOS Shaving Creamicon in Island Blue. They have 3 different fragrances: Pomegranate Raspberry, Vanilla Bliss, and Island Blue. They asked which I would prefer to test, and I chose the Island Blue.

I have had the chance to try it a few times, and I really like it. The scent definitely has an “island” type smell, although I can’t really pinpoint what the scent is. I really like it though, and that’s what matters. I also really like the can it came in. It has a pump you press to get it out, which makes it very easy to use with just one hand.

It also came with a bunch of coupons, and while I’ll happily give some to friends, I have to admit I’ll keep a few for myself! I know that it’s sold at Target, as well as online at Drugstore.com.icon

If it wasn’t for SheSpeaks, I would never have tried it, so I’m glad I got to test the product, and give them my feedback.

Earning Free Stuff with My Coke Rewards

July 9th, 2008

My Coke Rewards is a site where you can earn rewards when you buy Coke products. This includes Coke, Sprite, Dasani Water, Powerade, Vault, Fanta, Minute Maid, Barq’s, Pibb, and Fresca. Here is the list of how many points you will get for what codes you enter:

25 points - 32 Pack, 12 oz. cans
24 points - 8 Pack, 20 oz. bottles
20 points - 24 Pack, 12 oz. cans
18 points - 6 Pack, 24 oz. bottles
10 points - 12 Pack, 12 oz cans (Fridge Pack)
10 points - 24 Pack, 500 ml
10 points - 12 Pack, 500 ml
3 points - 1 liter bottle
3 points - 1.5 liter bottle
3 points - 2 liter bottle
3 points - 3 liter bottle
3 points - 20 oz. bottle
3 points - 32 oz. bottle
3 points - 450mL PET

What types of things can you get with points? Well, the choices are always changing, but there are often gift cards to different stores, magazine subscriptions, Coke products, electronics, movie tickets, and more. While you wouldn’t buy coke products just to get the rewards, it is nice to know you can get rewarded for something you are already buying!

Once in a while they will also have a double points day, where your Fridge Pack’s (worth 10 points) will be double, so you’ll get 20 points per code you enter.

You can enter up to 10 codes a day, so if you have tops that you’ve been saving, it won’t take too long to enter them in.

I have been a member for a while, but was just lazy about entering in all of my codes. I just did the past few weeks, and I was able to cash out for 2 rewards. I got two magazine subscriptions, so I’m really excited about that, since they are for magazines that I never see free anywhere. If you drink any of the Coke products mentioned above, you might as well enter your codes. Even if you don’t want anything, you never know what will be added!

It’s nice to be able to get something free just because you bought something you were going to buy anyway!

Free Ziploc Sandwich Bags + More

July 3rd, 2008

Each month, Clean Home Journal gives away 10,000 gift packs. They always include different things in them, as well as coupons.

The July - Joys of Summer Gift Pack includes a free 50-count box of Ziploc Sandwich Bags, and $5.00 in coupons for SC Johnson products (such as OFF!, Ziploc, Scrubbing Bubbles, and Glade).

As mentioned above, the first 10,000 to sign up for them will receive it.

Free Stuff - Free Magazines, Samples, and More

July 2nd, 2008

Looking to get something for nothing? If so, you’ve come to the right place.

If you’re wondering how and why all these companies give things away for free, it’s not always out of the goodness of their hearts (although sometimes it is)! Usually it’s to get you to try their product, so that you’ll see that you really like it, and then you’ll want to keep buying it over and over again.

With magazines, they get paid by advertisers for having a certain amount of subscribers…so if they give you a free subscription, they can get even more money from their advertisers that more than makes up for you getting the magazine for free.

Here are a few freebies you can get right now. Note that some of them go fast!

Auntie Anne’s Pretzel - FREE

June 26th, 2008

Get a FREE Auntie Anne’s Pretzel when you print out the coupon!

Note: You have to install a coupon printer first in order to print it, but if you have ever printed coupons out before, you’ll most likely already have this installed.

The good thing about these types of coupons is that each barcode is different, so they know you can’t just photocopy them and use them over and over…which means that they will actually accept them! The company (Bricks) that these coupons are being printed out through will allow you to print out 2 of them.

It looks like the coupon is good for one month after you print it, so you should have plenty of time to use it.

I installed the coupon printer last night, and was able to print out my coupon. I look forward to using it the next time I’m at the mall!

June 25th, 2008

Looking for something to do with the whole family this summer that won’t break the bank? How does FREE (or $1.00) movies sound? There are plenty of movie theaters all across the country that are showing movies each week for the whole family to see. Here are just some of them:

  • AMC Theatres are offering $1.00 movies every Wednesday at 10AM now through August 6th. The movies include (in order) Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium, The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep, Alvin & The Chipmunks, Shrek The Third, Bee Movie, Surf’s Up, and TMNT.
  • Regal Entertainment (including Regal Cinemas, United Artists, and Edwards Cinemas) will have free movies every Tuesday and Wednesday morning at 10AM now through August 20th. The movies are all G or PG, and vary theater to theater, so you’ll have to look up what movies your local theater is playing.
  • Cinemark Cinemas will be showing 10 weeks of G and PG movies this summer for $1.00 each, or you can pay $5.00 for the whole series. See your local theater for movies and show times.
  • Classic Cinemas will have $1.00 movies every Wednesday morning, showing G and PG movies. Check your local theater for movies and show times.
  • Clearview Cinemas will have free movies Thursday mornings at 10:30AM starting tomorrow, June 26th. Movies include: Bee Movie, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Curious George, Mr. Bean’s Holiday, The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep, Evan Almighty, Shrek the Third, and Surf’s Up.

Even if your movie theater isn’t listed, take a look at their website. Many other local theaters are also offering something similar this summer. It’s a great way to keep cool, and have the whole family see some great movies, all for $1 or less!
