Looking to get something for nothing? If so, you’ve come to the right place.
If you’re wondering how and why all these companies give things away for free, it’s not always out of the goodness of their hearts (although sometimes it is)! Usually it’s to get you to try their product, so that you’ll see that you really like it, and then you’ll want to keep buying it over and over again.
With magazines, they get paid by advertisers for having a certain amount of subscribers…so if they give you a free subscription, they can get even more money from their advertisers that more than makes up for you getting the magazine for free.
Here are a few freebies you can get right now. Note that some of them go fast!

Get a FREE Auntie Anne’s Pretzel when you print out the coupon!
Note: You have to install a coupon printer first in order to print it, but if you have ever printed coupons out before, you’ll most likely already have this installed.
The good thing about these types of coupons is that each barcode is different, so they know you can’t just photocopy them and use them over and over…which means that they will actually accept them! The company (Bricks) that these coupons are being printed out through will allow you to print out 2 of them.
It looks like the coupon is good for one month after you print it, so you should have plenty of time to use it.
I installed the coupon printer last night, and was able to print out my coupon. I look forward to using it the next time I’m at the mall!

Looking for something to do with the whole family this summer that won’t break the bank? How does FREE (or $1.00) movies sound? There are plenty of movie theaters all across the country that are showing movies each week for the whole family to see. Here are just some of them:
- AMC Theatres are offering $1.00 movies every Wednesday at 10AM now through August 6th. The movies include (in order) Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium, The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep, Alvin & The Chipmunks, Shrek The Third, Bee Movie, Surf’s Up, and TMNT.
- Regal Entertainment (including Regal Cinemas, United Artists, and Edwards Cinemas) will have free movies every Tuesday and Wednesday morning at 10AM now through August 20th. The movies are all G or PG, and vary theater to theater, so you’ll have to look up what movies your local theater is playing.
- Cinemark Cinemas will be showing 10 weeks of G and PG movies this summer for $1.00 each, or you can pay $5.00 for the whole series. See your local theater for movies and show times.
- Classic Cinemas will have $1.00 movies every Wednesday morning, showing G and PG movies. Check your local theater for movies and show times.
- Clearview Cinemas will have free movies Thursday mornings at 10:30AM starting tomorrow, June 26th. Movies include: Bee Movie, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Curious George, Mr. Bean’s Holiday, The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep, Evan Almighty, Shrek the Third, and Surf’s Up.
Even if your movie theater isn’t listed, take a look at their website. Many other local theaters are also offering something similar this summer. It’s a great way to keep cool, and have the whole family see some great movies, all for $1 or less!

Even though it’s only the start of summer, are you sick of what’s on TV? It seems that all that’s on is either reruns from the past season, or new reality shows. Neither of which I’d like to watch. Don’t get me wrong…there are a few new shows out, but not enough!
The good news is, NBC Universal has created a website where you can watch TV shows as well as movies for free…and it is completely legal!
Yes, you do have a few commercials to watch during the show, but what’s 15 seconds here or there when you can watch something you actually WANT to watch?
While I was just checking it out, I saw that they added ALF today. I can’t tell you how many years it’s been since I have seen that, so it was cool to watch a few minutes of it. It’s also nice that you can watch all of these TV shows and movies with just the click of a button…you don’t have to spend any money to go rent the DVDs!
You might be wondering what types of TV shows or movies you’ll find. Well, it really runs all over the place, including older stuff as well as things from just a few days ago. Just a few of the TV shows you’ll find: Family Guy, The Pretender, 30 Rock, Picket Fences, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, The Addams Family, Arrested Development, I Dream of Jeannie, Barney Miller, Silver Spoons, The Simpsons, and many more.
As far as movies go, while they don’t have quite as many full length movies as they do TV shows, they still have quite a few including October Sky, Psycho, The Girl Next Door, Ice Age, The Jerk, Three Amigos!, and more.
When you look at the full list of movies or TV shows, it is easy to tell which are full episodes/movies, as they have an icon next to them, so you don’t have to worry about starting one to find out it’s only 30 seconds long. Another tip I’ve found is once you pick movies or TV, click on Alphabetical List. It’s much easier to see exactly what they have to offer this way.
I just found out about this site, but am very excited! It’s nice to know that there are some legal sites out there that have lots of shows and movies we can watch.
It’s definitely a nice way to save money (by not spending any at all) and be entertained.

Here are a bunch of free things you can get! There’s no catch, although sometimes it’s a good idea to use a separate email account instead of your regular one, just in case of spam.

While on BzzAgent’s website, one of their “Frogs” was for a website called Mint. It claimed to make managing your personal finances easier, so of course I was interested and decided to take a look. On top of that, it’s FREE…and there is no better price than free, so I was convinced to sign up to see how it worked.
It was very easy to sign up and to get my account information entered. I just had to enter in the account info, and it automatically downloaded my info.
While I have only played with it for a little while, I like how you can see exactly where you are spending your money. You can easily track how much you spend on certain things each month, so you can make sure you are spending less in a certain category if that’s what you’re trying to do.
The only part that I’m not thrilled with is that it tries to make “suggestions” on how you can save even more money, which don’t always seem to make sense to me! But if you ignore those, and just use it to easily keep track of all of your finances, it does make it easy to see exactly where your money is going.

If you’re like I am, you love listening to music. Even if you don’t always like music on, you might want to listen to music every once in a while while you’re at home, either while you are relaxing, cleaning, or reading a book.
As you know, CD’s can get expensive, and sometimes your radio just isn’t exactly what you’re looking for. Let’s face it, your radio only gives you a handful of stations you might be interested in, and you might be looking to hear a particular song, or a more particular genre then what the local radio stations play.
This is where Internet Radio comes in! There are so many different websites out there (all free), and many you can even listen to the song you want to - when you want to!
Here are just a few choices you have, and what makes them great. As you’ll quickly see, depending on your mood, you can listen to almost anything you want…even if you don’t know what you want!
Live365 - This Internet Radio station has hundreds of stations. For example, if you choose oldies, first you can choose if you want to listen to 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, or 90s. After you choose that, you get tons of radio stations to choose from, so you’re sure to find a station with a style you’ll like. Since it’s a radio station, there are commercials, but there are only a few. They even have multiple stations that just play Disney songs! So you’re sure to find what you’re looking for.
ShoutCast - This is another Internet Radio website, and they also have hundreds of stations to choose from. Similar to the one above, you can search to find almost exactly what you are looking for. Again, since it is a radio station, you’ll get a few commercials.
Pandora - This is an interesting website. You tell it a song you like, or an artist…and it will play songs that are similar. This is a great way to listen to music if you’re in a certain type of mood, since it will play songs similar to what you entered. It will also play songs that are less known, so you’ll get to hear different songs.
IMEEM - Have a song that you NEED to hear, right now? Go to IMEEM. You can type the song in, and listen to it right away. It’s great if you are in the mood to hear a certain song, since you can just enter the name of the song, and most likely you’ll find it and get to hear the whole song. You can even set up a playlist so you can listen to a whole bunch of songs that you want to at once.
As you can see, there are a ton of ways to listen to music online for free, so you have no excuse not to be listening to exactly what you want to! It’s great, because you don’t have to worry about buying the latest CD’s, or spending any money at all…but you can still listen to what you want, when you want.

The other day Scott mentioned that he’d like to start listening to audio books on the way to and from work. He figures he spends about an hour in the car each day, and never has any time to read…so this way he could listen to all the books he’s been meaning to read.
Without thinking, we headed over to Barnes & Noble to see if we could get a good audio book. Boy were we in for a surprise!! Each audio book was at least $30.00, and most were a lot more than that! There was no way we were going to get any audio books that way.
That’s when it finally hit both of us. We could get the audio books from the library. Not only that, but they’d bring them to our closest library, so we would only have to go a few blocks from our house to pick them up.
We were even able to do one better. By checking out the website for our library, we found out that NJ has a free online audio book rental system. Our county is affiliated with it, so we can just go find a book they have, download it, and listen to it right then. Many you can only listen to on your hard drive or mp3 player, but some you could even burn to cd to listen to it.
So now between the new website, and requesting audio books from our library, he can get all the audio books he wants, and we don’t have to spend a penny.
That made us very happy. It’s just funny that it took us so long to come up with it! I guess when we think of libraries, we just think about books, and forget that they have audio books, music cds, movie dvds, magazines, and more.

Getting free software that you might otherwise buy is a great way to save money. There is a great site out there called Giveaway of the Day that gives away a different piece of software every 24 hours.
Now, when you think of something like that, you might assume it’s shareware or other downloads that you wouldn’t really care for. This is not the case however. These are really useful pieces of software, and I have downloaded quite a few recently that have helped me out!
These are downloads that if you wanted to get them the following day, you’d have to pay for them. They are only free for the one day.
So if you check it out every so often, you might find something you’ve been looking for!
