I spent about an hour and a half doing surveys, and earned about $11.00. I also received points for many of them, as well as entries into contests, so I could end up getting more out of it. As for mystery shopping, I only did 2 shops this month. This was by choice as I was pretty busy, although I did have the option to do many more in my area. I ended up earning $19.00 from that, although unfortunately I can’t share where I was able to mystery shop.

I also through some of the surveys (and another thing I am part of that I will share in my next post) was able to get a few different products to try, which was a lot of fun. With one of them I was able to try a product not yet on the market, and with another one I was able to try a few products that are on the market, but that I had never tried.

Overall, if you include the retail prices of the products I tried along with the cash I earned, I would say I got about $50.00. Not to bad considering I didn’t put all that much time into it. (Most months I am able to put a little more time into it.) I was also able to get a few rewards based on the things I had done, so it made it even nicer! While it is not a full time job, or even a part time job, all of these are a great way to earn a little extra money, and get to try some new things.

This is why I am going to start the October Challenge. I am going to include any income earned by surveys, mystery shopping, etc, and I will add them up as we go, and see how well I can do in one month, if I really try.

Honestly, I get so many survey requests a day, I ignore many of them…but for October I will do as many as time permits in my schedule. I will share all of my sources so that you too can do the same thing. And we’ll see at the end of the month, how much “extra” money I can make.
