Looking for new ways to save money? With this economy (or any type of economy actually), you should always be looking for new ways to save money. You’d be surprised how easy it can be. You don’t have to spend all of your time doing it either. Sometimes something as simple as asking the right question can get you a discount.

If you’ve always wanted to know how to save money on things such as restaurants, movies, your bills, clothes, etc… you may have heard of The Ultimate Savings Guide before. We created it to give you 202 tips on how to save money in different areas of your life. It gives you simple things you can do to save money. Most of these things take only seconds to do, and can really save you a lot.

What types of tips will you find?

30 tips to save on Groceries and Health and Beauty Aids.

11 tips for saving money on Entertainment.

27 tips to save on your Bills and Services like phone, cable and heat.

23 tips on Vacations and Traveling.

…and more!

Originally we sold it for $29.97. At that price it’s a great bargain. You’ll easily save hundreds of dollars after reading it, and after following even a few of the 202 tips. But we just found a way that you can get it for free!

If you go to The Ultimate Savings Guide, at the bottom of the page by the order link, there is now a “Get it Free” button. What does this do? It’ll bring you to TrialPay. On TrialPay, all you have to do is complete one trial, and you’ll get the e-book for free.

Your next question will probably be “But how much will THAT cost me?” Most likely NOTHING, unless you want it to. What you will do, is be able to choose from many different options of what you want to try. Most likely, you’ll just get a free trial of something. You can choose to purchase something – if you were planning on buying it anyway, but that’s up to you.

Why would a company let you try their product for free? It’s a great win-win for everyone. They are so sure you’ll love their product, that they just want you to try it, hoping they will win you over. You get to try the product, and you’ll get The Ultimate Savings Guide for free. Everyone wins!

We hope that this more affordable option (I mean, what’s better than free?) will help get this e-book into your hands, so that you can start saving money, and growing your bank account.

Also, stay tuned to the website, where we will keep sharing with you great deals, as well as money saving tips to help keep more money in your pocket!

The Entertainment Book is now 35% off, and also has free shipping. For many books, this means that it will cost only $19.50. If you’re looking to save money on a whole lot of different things, the Entertainment Book is a great way to do so.

First off, they have a LOT of coupons good for restaurants in your area. Even using just one or two coupons will more than make up the cost of the book – but there are still so many more that you will use. You’ll find coupons for a lot of chains, as well as single owned restaurants.

Besides food, there are also many coupons for retail stores, services, travel, and more. The coupons are all good through November 1st, so you have plenty of time to use it. If you’re someone that goes out – to eat, shop, watch movies, travel, etc… you’ll find that the Entertainment Book will be very helpful for you!

With all of the stores that have announced they are going out of business – such as Circuit City, Linens N’ Things, and more, you might be wondering how you can make sure you get the best prices. The second that a store announces that it’s going out of sale, you start seeing signs like “everything 20% off”…and then as time goes on, that percent goes higher and higher, until right before the store closes when everything is 75% – 90% off.

The question is, are you always getting a good deal when you go to one of these “Going out of business” sales? Well, as I’ve mentioned in previous posts such as my recent post on Circuit City going out of business, you aren’t always getting a great deal. To further prove this, here is a YouTube video where ABC News is at a Linens N’ Things showing how prices have gone HIGHER since the store announced that it’s going out of business. The video is a little under 5 min. long, but I think really goes to show you have to be careful:

Am I saying that you should stay far away from “Going out of business” sales? Of course not. Eventually these stores will lower prices enough that you can get some great bargains. You just need to remember that just because a store says something is “on sale” that it doesn’t mean it’s a great price. Have fun hunting for great bargains though, which can be found!

It’s now a little over a week until Christmas, and everywhere you look it’s “Sale”, “Clearance”, and “% off your order”. Almost every store seems to be having a huge sale where you can get great deals!

The big question is, should you buy now or wait until after Christmas? In the past, prices would go even lower after Christmas. Of course, this was when the economy was better. This year there have been great sales for a while already!

So, if there is something you want, should you buy it now or wait and hope prices will go down?

Well, it depends. If you are happy with the price it is at now, I’d say buy it. If you aren’t giving it as a gift or going to need to use it right away, keep it in the bag with the tags on it. Then, wait a week or two and see if the price goes down. If it does, most stores will adjust the price and give you back the difference. Make sure you look at their store policy before buying the item though, as different stores have different amounts of time you can adjust the price until.

My guess is that these prices aren’t going anywhere though. I have a feeling a lot of the stores will keep similar prices until the new year – but that’s just my guess. All I know is that I’m really enjoying being able to get the few items I want at a great discount!

If you enjoy shopping on Black Friday, I do NOT advise getting sick for Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, I woke up the day before Thanksgiving not feeling all that well, and by Thanksgiving I was too sick to go to the dinner with family that I had been looking forward to.

Of course, since I had been looking forward to Black Friday for months and months, I loaded up on DayQuil, and went out anyway. I originally had planned on going to a bunch of different places with one of my closest friends, but was lucky enough to make it to 5 stores. I was able to get what I wanted the most though, so I really can’t complain.

What was high on my list this year? Mostly DVDs. Yes, really. I didn’t need much, and wasn’t looking for much, but there were a lot of great DVDs on sale for a lot lower price than you can get them otherwise, so I had fun with that. I got a few other things as well, but was happy to be home by 10am so that I could go back to sleep!

I am one of the crazy ones that loves going shopping early on Black Friday, so hopefully next year I’ll be in better health and will be able to enjoy it more!

When going on vacation, there is a good chance you’re going to do a lot of the attractions in the area. For example, if you’re going to Los Angeles, you might be going to Disneyland as well as Universal Studios. If you’re going to Toronto, you might be going to see the CN Tower, the Royal Ontario Museum, the Ontario Science Center, etc. Since this is the case, a few companies have come out with packages where you pay once, and get tickets to many of the attractions in a city at a great savings.

For example, when we were in Toronto, for one price, we got an entrance into the CN Tower, Royal Ontario Museum, Ontario Science Center, Casa Loma, the Hockey Hall of Fame, and the Toronto Zoo. It would have cost a lot more to buy tickets individually to each of these. This was known as the Toronto Citypass, and if you were going to at least 4 of the attractions, it made sense to buy the pass. We had no intention of going to the Zoo as we didn’t have enough time, but since we were planning on going to 5 of them, it was still a savings for us to buy the pass.

Citypass is not the only one to offer such passes to different cities. There is also the Go Card which has similar passes for other cities. There are even some that are not part of a program, and just have a pass for one location, such as the Niagara Falls Adventure Pass, which included the Maid of the Mist, Journey Behind the Falls, White Water Walk, Butterfly Conservatory, and the People Mover Bus.

We did that one as well, although we skipped out on the White Water Walk due to lack of time. We still saved money, and got to see everything we wanted to see. It was also great since these count as tickets, so you don’t have to wait in line at each location…you can go right in! So that was an extra little perk.

So if you’re going to a city that has a lot of well known attractions, first take a look to see if they have some sort of savings pass where you can pay once and get into many of the attractions. You’ll be surprised at how much you can save.
